Both Charlie and I were brought up with dogs. We are a small kennel and fell in love with Golden Retrievers some thirty years ago. We got the show
bug in 1991, competing with 'Gwyngala Ambassador'. Our daughter Vicky very sucessfully competed in the Junior Handling Classes; it was in 1996
that our first twoWelshie boys; litter brothers (Rolo & Blaze) came to live at 'Benoveor'.
Vicky had tremendous fun with 'Kylowen Keverne of Benoveor' (Rolo) winning well in both Breed, K.C.J.O Stakes and Handling classes at
Championship shows. Sadly 2009 was a very hard year for us, we said goodbye to three of our beautiful Welsh boys in four months. Rolo, Blaze &
Mel (Rolos' son) were all so special and will stay in our hearts forever.
2010 has been a mixed year... January saw Brinkley our new Welshie puppy come to join us at 'Benoveor'. In April Vicky flew the
nest, taking Riggs & Emmett with her. Sadly on the last day of November we said a tearful goodbye to our very special Golden
Forrest (Chesters one and only son); just 5 days short of his 11th birthday. A beautiful gentle man who will never be forgotton. So for
the first time in over thirty years the house seems a little empty with no Goldens sharing our home. Although Riggs & Emmett do spend
their day with Granny &Grandad at 'Benoveor' while Vicky is at work!
Vicky & Jan jointly own the 'Benoveor' Affix. Both of us take an active role within the dog community. Both Jan (Secretary) & Vicky (Vice
Chairman) retired from their posts at 'Cornwall Gundog Club' to take on more challenging roles with 'Camborne Redruth Canine Society'. Jan is their
current Secretary while Vicky is Treasurer.
Vicky has taught many juniors how to handle their dogs; two even winning their age groups at the Richmond Finals.Vicky also enjoys judging most
Gundog Breeds at Open level.
Finally a big thank you to Charlie (the backbone of it all) who without; none of this would be possible. Not attending many shows lately, Charlie is
the one who has drawn the 'short straw' to look after things back home while Vicky & Jan campaign the boys!!! What a star he really is.
